Kopigo
Copy on one device. Paste on another. Encrypted the whole way.
In development — not yet released

Kopigo moves text between your own devices — phone, laptop, desktop — without exposing that text to anyone else, including us. Text is encrypted on the sending device and can be decrypted only by the receiving device you chose.
The relay service in between routes encrypted envelopes. It cannot read what you send, and it does not keep it: undelivered encrypted content expires after 30 minutes.
How it works
The send and receive flow
Every transfer follows the same on-device encryption path, whether the text was typed, pasted, captured with OCR, or scanned from a QR code.
Capture or type
Paste or type text, or on Android and iOS extract it from an image with on-device OCR or scan a QR code. Images and recognized text never leave your device.
Choose target devices
Pick one or more of your own registered devices. Each device is identified by a public key it generated locally.
Encrypted per device
Your device encrypts the text separately for every destination device using X25519 key agreement and ChaCha20-Poly1305 authenticated encryption.
Relayed, not stored
The Kopigo service routes each encrypted envelope to its device. Online devices receive instantly; offline devices can collect it for up to 30 minutes before it expires and is erased.
Decrypted locally
The receiving device decrypts with its private key, which never leaves the device’s secure storage, and copies the text to the clipboard or shows it in the inbox.
Capabilities
What Kopigo can do
Text from images, locally
On Android and iOS, point the camera at text or pick a photo and select exactly the words or region you want. Recognition runs entirely on the device; images and recognized text are never uploaded.
QR codes into text
Scan a QR code and its raw text lands in the editable composer. Kopigo never opens decoded links or sends anything automatically.
Local encrypted history
Sent and received entries are kept only on your device, each encrypted individually, capped at the 50 newest per channel. History is never synced through the server.
Device management
Register up to 10 devices, see their status, and revoke any of them from any of your devices. Revoked devices can no longer send or receive.
Encrypted device names
Even your device names and hostnames are encrypted on-device before the service stores them. The server sees opaque envelopes, not names.
Private notifications
Android arrival notifications carry a generic "clipboard arrived" event only — never clipboard content, device names, or account details.
Privacy boundaries
What stays on your device, what the service processes
The honest version, not the marketing version:
Only on your devices
- Clipboard text, in plaintext form
- Private keys, in platform secure storage
- OCR images and recognized text
- QR captures and decoded values
- Clipboard history and its encryption key
- Decrypted device names and hostnames
Processed by the Kopigo service
- Your Firebase-authenticated account identity
- Device public keys, platforms, and online status
- Encrypted envelopes in transit (deleted on delivery, expired after 30 minutes if undelivered)
- Routing and receipt metadata (kept up to 7 days)
- Encrypted device-name envelopes it cannot read
- An encrypted push identifier for Android notifications
Kopigo is not an anonymity tool and does not claim "zero knowledge": the service knows which of your devices exchanged encrypted envelopes and when, and it is designed to protect against a curious or breached server — not against an actively malicious one that substitutes device keys. The security page explains this precisely.
